Film festival, shell festival, equidays … there is a range of festive and family events for young and old, even in autumn!

The list is not exhaustive. Programme subject to change or cancellation without notice. The sanitary pass and the wearing of a mask may be compulsory for certain events, ask your tourist office or the town hall.

Events of September :

Sentier des Arts (The Arts Trail), Douvres-la-Délivrande

From 3 September to 3 October, from the Barony to the Cour d’Yvrande – artistic installations, photographic exhibitions, reproductions of works and ephemeral creations by artists: associations and schools from Douvres will be scattered in various places in the town, along a marked out route of 1.5 km. The exhibition is open to all, residents, visitors and walkers. Free 7 days a week.

The Equidays 2021

From 23 to 28 October – a horse festival throughout Calvados. For six days, subject to and in strict compliance with the health measures in force, Calvados will celebrate the horse in all its forms through a hundred or so events, for all audiences, throughout its territory. And in the heart of six towns, the Equidays village will offer numerous free activities, equestrian shows and a large parade. For more information, click here.

Halloween

Saturday 30th October, Courseulles-sur-Mer – witches, ghosts, vampires, skeletons and werewolves are expected to come to Courseulles-sur-Mer to celebrate Halloween and enjoy a chilling programme! The town’s entertainment department, the Leisure Centre, the Paradis des Enfants, the Courseulles Cultural Association (ACC), the Juno Beach Centre and Courseulles Equitation are putting together a terrific family day where children can dress up, be scared and fill their bags with sweets!

20 and 21 November, fishing port – Courseulles-sur-mer celebrates the star of the plate: the scallop: culinary activities, local market, concerts…

The Christmas Shops

27 and 28 November, 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 December, Douvres-la-Délivrande, Cour d’Yvrande – a dozen craftsmen exhibit their 100% home-made creations: textiles, trinkets, jewellery, accessories, wooden toys… here’s a chance to buy original, locally-made gifts.
